CIT was founded in 1986 by members of Christ Church in Short Hills, New Jersey.
Our mission is to provide support to professionals during times of career transition, and guidance after they land. All are welcome to attend any meeting.
Our group has grown to include members nationwide. Meeting attendance has ranged in attendance from 20 to 100+ members. Landed members return to stay current with and learn new career advancement strategies and to keep their network current while helping others find new employment.
Our meetings are composed of networking time followed by 3 subgroup sessions and presentations of interest (e.g., social media, networking tips, etc.). Networking is a key element of career transition, and is a major emphasis of CIT sessions.
OUR THREE SUBGROUPS:
General Session – a facilitated presentation or round table discussion of current challenges, topics of interest and techniques related to Networking, Interviewing, offer Negotiating, remaining positive and successfully managing a search.
How to get Unstuck in your Job Search and LinkedIn Networking Tips – discusses special topics, including how to reach out to landed members.
Resume Review – a thorough review by experienced executive hiring managers with emphasis on 3 areas:
Its appearance on paper;
What it says and how it says it; what’s missing; and,
Anticipated electronic and Applicant Tracking System issues.
